Arrival Day

Most of the USA team arrived today. Some by ferry but most by plane. A few more will arrive later tonight and tomorrow. After checking in at the dorm rooms everyone went to dinner in the dinning hall.  The food was surprisingly good with a fairly good variety of options. No complaints were heard so it must have been ok with all the kids. Team meeting after dinner to go over schedules, rules and introduce coaches and staff.  Energy is high and the kids are psyched and ready for day 1 of training tomorrow. The Australian Team, The Canadian Team and the South African Team will all be staying here at the University of Victoria also, scheduled to arrive later this week. What a great opportunity to meet other climbers from around the world!

SPECIAL REQUEST OF PARENTS:  Please email chelsea (chelsea@usaclimbing.org) and let her know if your son or daughter will be staying with you on the evening of August 19th when the competition is over or if he/she will be staying in the dorms. Also please let her know if your son/daughter needs the USAC staff to tranport them to the airport when departing Victoria.

Coaches and staff just finished bed check. All athletes were in their rooms and several already asleep by 10:00 p.m.  We have an early start tomorrow with breakfast from 7:00-8:00 then in the vans and off to The Boulders Gym for the first day of practice. Check back tomorrow for new updates and pictures!
